Each manufacturing step is executed by a robotic routine programmed to defined parameters: exact execution, every time. This reduces the process variability that arises from manual execution and handling, whilst preserving the exact manufacturing process you have developed.

Constellation® was designed to require no manual documentation whatsoever. The system documents every manufacturing step automatically, down to each fluid transfer. Records are captured in electronic batch records designed to meet 21 CFR Part 11 requirements, and the system can integrate with a developer's existing MES and other digital manufacturing and operational solutions, finally integrating the operational layer into the rest of the digital stack.

Constellation® keeps production moving when disruptions - planned or unplanned - occur. Each manufacturing step, across multiple unit operations and multiple batches in parallel production, can be carried out by multiple robots at multiple stations, so if any component becomes unavailable, tasks can be reassigned in real time and production can continue. This is the job of Constellation's orchestration layer, which coordinates scheduling, fleet management and robotic path/task planning across the facility.
A robust, trusted supply chain.
Constellation® operates the bioprocessing instruments and consumables you already use. Through our co-supply relationships with partners such as Cytiva and Fresenius Kabi, consumables continue to come directly from your instrument providers, rather than requiring migration to a proprietary consumables ecosystem.

Constellation® can be deployed within your own facility, or delivered as a wholly outsourced manufacturing solution through our selected CDMO partners.
Inside the system, modular workstations contain the bioprocessing instruments your process is built on. Mobile robots transport cell product and materials between them, executing each manufacturing unit operation, transfer and performing sterile fluid connections and transfers. A small number of human operators input materials into the facility and oversee operations.

Every step, verified and recorded.
Constellation® uses sterile tube welding to maintain a closed fluid pathway between unit operations, rather than relying on high-grade cleanrooms or isolators to control contamination risk.
Each weld is automatically integrity tested before the process is allowed to continue, and each test generates a digital QC record. The result is a continuous, verifiable account of every fluid connection made during a batch.
